A PREGNANT passenger was arrested by cops after being verbally abusive to Ryanair cabin crew members on her flight.

The mother-of-four was met by three officers who stormed the aircraft upon arrival at Edinburgh Airport in the early hours of Tuesday.

Flight attendants had turned the cabin lights on as they offered drinks and snacks to passengers during the delayed night flight from Morocco.

The woman sparked a heated argument with the airline staff over lighting during the flight, resulting in her being hauled off the plane as it sat on the runway.

Speaking to The Sun, one passenger said: “When the crew reached her seat, she immediately complained and demanded the lights be turned off so her kids could sleep.

“They were being polite and professional, but she was just so abusive, raising her voice and speaking to them like garbage. She was being very entitled.

“After we landed, we were held for over half an hour and the captain repeated several times that we were not to stand up or leave our seats.

“The police eventually boarded and told her to come with them. She was having none of it, but they told her not to cause a scene in front of the children.”

Her partner was left with the four children, who appeared to be between the ages of one and eight, as the family made their way through passport control and baggage claim.

The passenger added: “We all just felt sorry for the husband and kids, they had to watch their mum being arrested on the plane. We were more concerned for them.

“Lots of passengers offered to help him, but he politely declined. He later told us at baggage claim that she had been arrested.

“There were lots of us on that flight in agreement with the police.

“There’s no room in this world to speak to anyone like that, let alone flight attendants.

“They’re on the back of a 12 hour shift and they’re doing their best job to get us home safe, show them some respect.”

Ryanair and Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
