Israel strikes heart of Beirut as G7, China call for diplomacy

As Israel bombed central Beirut early on Thursday, G7 leaders voiced "strong concern" over the Middle East crisis while China called on the United Nations Security Council to take "urgent actions" to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East.
