Man critical after traffic accident, police investigating

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 31-year-old was seriously injured at 3am on Thursday in Nicosia.

The man was driving his car on the Nicosia-Palechori road when, near Anayia, he lost control of his vehicle, swerved off the road to the left and hit the embankment and trees before overturning and coming to a halt.

From the force of the collision, the man was thrown from his car and suffered multiple fractures.

He is intubated in critical condition in the Nicosia general hospital ICU.
