Luke Bryan Weighs In On If Beyonce Was Snubbed at CMA Awards 2024 & Her Presence in Country Music

Luke Bryan opened up about Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter being overlooked in the nominations for the 2024 CMA Awards.

Although her album made waves earlier this year and qualified in several categories, it was noticeably not included in the list of nominees for the awards show.

During a recent interview, Luke shared his thoughts on if she was snubbed and her presence in the country music genre.

While on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Andy Cohen asked Luke about the snub.

“It’s a tricky question because, obviously, Beyoncé made a country album. And Beyoncé has a lot of fans out there that have her back. And if she doesn’t get something they want, man, they come at you as fans should do,” he said.

Luke continued, saying, “Listen, I’m all for everybody coming in and making country albums and all that.”

However, just making a country album doesn’t qualify you for awards since “a lot of great music is overlooked.”

“Just because she made one … just ’cause I make one, I don’t get any nominations,” he said, adding, “Sometimes you don’t get nominated.”

He noted that the CMA voting body voted on what they thought deserved to be included.

“Everybody loved that Beyoncé made a country album. Nobody’s mad about it,” Luke added. “But where things get a little tricky. If you’re gonna make country albums, come into our world and be country with us a little bit.”

The hitmaker said, “Like Beyoncé can do exactly what she wants to. She’s probably the biggest star in music. But come to an award show and high-five us and have fun and get in the family, too.”

“And I’m not saying she didn’t do that,” he added, stressing that “country music is a lot about family.”
