Showing at WatchTime New York 2024: Frederique Constant Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture

0

Frederique Constant will showcase its latest Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture, featuring a malachite dial, at WatchTime New York 2024. Taking place from October 18 to 20 at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall, the event will highlight some of the most prestigious timepieces from over thirty-five leading brands (tickets, here). The new Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture— limited to just 36 pieces— marks a striking return for the watchmaker’s important model, with a significant aesthetic and technical revamp to come with it.

The Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture features a 40mm polished 18K white gold case, a more compact and refined size compared to previous models. The white gold adds to the watch’s elevated appeal while maintaining a sleek, elegant profile. The case houses an anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal and is water-resistant up to 30 meters. The exhibition caseback, engraved with an individual edition number, offers a view of the intricate movement within.

At the heart of this limited-edition is a vibrant green malachite dial, the first of its kind for use by the brand. The malachite’s rich shades, ranging from light green to nearly black, make each dial unique, embracing the green-dial trend in a distinct way.

As its signature for the series, the watch combines the moonphase and date in a single sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The moonphase is silver-toned to match the white gold case, set against a grey-green sky, with a subtle hand sweeping above to indicate the date. New, hand-polished alpha-shaped hands then glide over the dial’s applied indices for the running time.

The new watch is powered by the FC-716 manufacture movement, developed entirely in-house by Frederique Constant. The mechanism offers a significantly improved power reserve of 72 hours, nearly double that of its predecessor. To accomplish this, the movement’s barrel has been updated to accommodate the increased power reserve, with redesigned bridges that maintain the original dimensions of the caliber family. More than its technical specs alone, the FC-716 caliber is finely decorated with perlage and Côtes de Genève finishes, all visible through the sapphire caseback.

Frederique Contant’s new malachite edition of the Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture is limited to 36 editions, with pricing marked at $29,995. The watch is available now through authorized boutiques.
