First Look at Travis Kelce's 'Grotesquerie' Acting Debut Revealed

0

Travis Kelce is making his highly anticipated acting debut in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series Grotesquerie on Wednesday night, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end seems to be deliberately calculating his post-NFL career. And ahead of the new episode, he teased the introduction of his character, which until now has been kept tightly under wraps.

Kelce played the clip on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother, retired Eagles center Jason Kelce. For the first time, he revealed that the name of his character is "Ed Lachlan," though it's still presently unclear what his character does.

"Did you get to choose Ed? Is that in honor of Ed Kelce?" Jason asked, in reference to their father, to which Travis replied that "it was just fate."

In his first scene, Travis can be seen interacting with Niecy Nash-Betts's character, who tells him, "Thank you, handsome. What's your name?" Ever the suave charmer, he smiles and says, "Ed. Ed Lachlan," while seductively flipping open a lighter.

"Don't act like you know me," Nash-Betts says, laughing, to which Travis responds, "I know a little something."

"I'm not gonna lie, you killed it right there," Jason said after running the clip, to which Travis said that he was "full of sh-t."

"I'm gonna need you to stop dodging. Did you boil a baby or not?" Jason grilled him. "Jason, do I look like I have the f--cked-upness about me to boil a f--king baby?" he asked, which his brother countered with: "No, you don't. But Ed Lachlan might."

The series stars Nash-Betts as Detective Lois Tryon, who must work with a local nun (Micaela Diamond) to get to the bottom of a series of heinous crimes that is affecting both their community and personal lives. The third episode, in which Kelce makes his debut, airs Wednesday night at 10 p.m. on FX.
