Five-star forward forward Tounde Yessoufou commits to Baylor
By ADAM ZAGORIA
Tounde Yessoufou, a five-star wing in the class of 2025 from St. Joseph (CA), committed to Baylor on Wednesday.
Ranked the No. 4 small forward in the 247Sports Composite, he chose the Bears over USC and Arizona State.
“I decided to go with Baylor,” he said on his 247 announcement. “Go Bears.”
“When I went on the visit, I felt the energy like a brotherhood. The coaches were super, super genuine and. I felt like something was right and it felt like home. And once I saw the practice facility and I saw them practicing, Coach Scott Drew, great guy. He looks like he trusts his players to play the right way. An that’s something I want to be a part of. He has been a champion and also he’s been the coach there for 23 years over there, and that is something very rare about him that I really, really like. And the whole coaching staff reaching out.
“That’s the reason why I choose Baylor, and now I make it my home.”

In terms of his play style, Yessoufou attacks downhill and demands attention on the interior.
“I can attack the basket and bring power on offense and defense,” he previously told ZAGSBLOG. “Basically anything the coaches want me to do, I’ll do it. I can shoot it a little bit, but my main thing is getting other teams in foul trouble.”
Said ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla who covers the Big 12: “I saw this young man earlier in the summer. He’s an athletic wing who plays with incredible energy. He will always be one of the toughest players on the floor for Baylor.
“He’s tailor made for Baylor and the Big 12.”
