MLBTR Projects Mets Arbitration Figures
Eight Mets, including David Peterson, Tylor Megill and Tyrone Taylor, will be up for arbitration this winter and MLBTradeRumors.com projected how much money the team will offer them in a report released Tuesday.
Below are the estimates. The number in parenthesis is the player’s years of service time (unofficially) in the big leagues.
- Peterson, $4.4 million (4.089)
- Paul Blackburn, $4.4 million (5.018)
- Taylor, $2.9 million (4.093)
- Megill, $2.1 million (3.031)
- DJ Stewart, $1.7 million (3.144)
- Alex Young, $1.4 million (4.085)
- Luis Torrens, $1.1 million (4.105)
- Sean Reid-Foley, $900,000 (3.133)
Matt Swartz created the model, which considers playing time, position, role and statistics and accounts for inflation. The website has been publishing the estimates for 14 years, which include the arbitration eligible players for every team.
Stewart is the first name that jumps out as a potential non-tender candidate after posting just a .622 OPS in 74 games this season for the Mets.
