10/02/2024: More Clouds, Chance Shower Wednesday

0

The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologists Matt Mackie and Kevin Appleby:

A weakening cold front will bring clouds and a slight chance for a shower, particularly northwest of Albany, on a cooler Wednesday. High pressure build back for the end of the work week with seasonably warm temperatures in store.

Showers will be light and widely scattered, becoming less numerous as the cold front advances to the east. Most folks, particularly east of the Hudson River, won't see measurable rainfall today.

The cold front, however, will bring thicker cloud cover to the region, preventing temperatures from warming as much as they have over the past several days. Highs will remain in the 60s Wednesday, which is seasonable for early October.

Tonight, any showers in the region diminish prior to midnight. Skies clear out afterwards, allowing temperatures to drop into the 40s and lower 50s.

A brighter, beautiful Thursday lies ahead! Temperatures will be seasonably warm again, with lots of areas in the low to mid 70s.

Friday is almost a copy-paste from Thursday, but clouds will be thickening up later in the day. Highs will again be in the low to mid 70s. Those clouds may yield a few rain showers overnight into very early Saturday morning, but it will become increasingly bright by Saturday afternoon - a fantastic start to the weekend! Highs Saturday will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Sunday will pick up where Saturday left off! After a cool start, expect a lot of sunshine with highs in the 60s to around 70 degrees. A potent cold front appears to be headed our way for early next week. Monday will feature showers and cooler conditions, with temperatures stuck in the 60s. Tuesday - and we are so due for a day like this - temperatures, despite a ton of sunshine, will struggle to get out of the 50s! Fall has started off with a summery feel, but a big change is on the way for early next week!
