KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The 17th annual Ulster County Italian American Festival is set to return to the Kingston Waterfront. On Sunday, Oct. 13, the Ulster County Italian American Foundation invites everyone to be Italian for a day with food, wine, music and shopping.

"The Italian Festival has become a beloved tradition in Ulster County, giving locals and visitors alike a chance to experience the sights, sounds, tastes and culture of Italy," said Festival organizer Anthony Tampone. "From the food to the music to the entertainment, it’s a full day of Italian fun for the whole family."

The annual event will feature live music, a tent designated for children, a vast array of food vendors and even a spaghetti eating contest. Live music performances will occur on two stages, headlined by Michael Dell, accompanied by vocalist Maria Hickey and guitarist Tony Dipaolo.

The event will kick off with a parade and the crowning of the Signore and Signora of the year. As the day progresses, local Italian American residents will share stories of their ancestry and host talks and demonstrations.

According to the Ulster County Italian American Foundation, the free festival couldn't be possible without their sponsors, the City of Kingston and festival volunteers. The Ulster County Area Transit will also be providing free shuttle services to and from the event from designated parking areas at the Kingston Plaza by Hannaford, Kingston High School's parking lot, Kingston Business Park and at the Kingston Point from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
