Man hospitalized after Queensbury truck crash
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Warren County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash in Queensbury on Wednesday morning that resulted in the hospitalization of one of the drivers. The crash took place on State Route 9 near Exit 20 on the Northway.
On October 2 around 6:48 a.m., deputies responded to the area after receiving reports of a crash involving a pickup truck and a dump truck. The ensuing investigation determined that the driver of a Ford F-150 heading north on Route 9 allegedly went through a red light at the Exit 20 intersection at a high rate of speed, where it collided with a dump truck exiting I-87.
The driver of the Ford reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center after being tended to at the scene. According to the sheriff's office, the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The driver of the dump truck was uninjured in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
