DG discusses strategies for navigating new environmental regulations with industry leaders
At a roundtable held at the WTO on 1 October, Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala engaged with over 20 CEOs and other representatives from leading agricultural companies, producer associations and certification organizations to discuss how businesses can be supported in navigating increasingly complex sustainability regulations designed to combat climate change and protect biodiversity. As international businesses prepare for these changes by ensuring compliance within their value chains, more dialogue is needed at the WTO level with the private sector which is dealing with these changes on a daily basis, she said.
