WATCH: Rohit Sharma takes his Rs 31500000 luxury car for a spin in Mumbai on return after Test series win over Bangladesh
Team India captain Rohit Sharma was back home in Mumbai on Tuesday evening for a well-deserved break after completing a 2-0 Test series whitewash against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. In a rain-hit second Test, with almost two and a half days washed out due to rain, Rohit Sharma’s side showed tremendous confidence in posting a seven-wicket win specially after their ‘ultra-aggressive’ display on Day 4 on Monday.
Former Mumbai Indians captain celebrated his homecoming by taking his Rs 3.15 crore Lamborghini Urus for a spin near his home in Mumbai. The video of Rohit Sharma enjoying a ride in his Lamborghini soon went viral on social media.

Last year, it was this same Lamborghini Urus of Rohit Sharma which was fined for over-speeding on Mumbai-Pune expressway ahead of India vs Bangladesh match at the Gahunje Stadium in Pune. Rohit Sharma exceeded the permitted speed limit of 105 kmph on two occasions. Footage captured by speed cameras installed on the expressway shows that he first exceeded the speed limit near Kamshet tunnel at 2:54 pm, with his Lamborghini Urus reaching a speed of 117 kmph.
Rohit’s Lamborghini is in bright blue colour – same as his team jersey with Mumbai Indians. It also has a number plate – ‘0264’ – depicting his highest score in ODI match vs Sri Lanka in November 2013.
Meanwhile, asked about India’s approach in the rain-hit Test match in Kanpur, Rohit said, “Once we lost two and a half days, when we came on day 4 we wanted to get them out as quickly as possible and see what we could do with the bat. When they got bowled out for 230, it wasn’t about the runs we got but the overs we got at them. The pitch didn’t have much. To make a game out of it on that pitch was a superb effort.
“It was a risk we were willing to take because when you’re trying to bat like that, you can be bundled out for a low score. But we were ready for it even if we got bowled out for 100-150,” he added.
