Warren County storm repair funding applications available

WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Sept. 17, New York State announced applications to receive funding to repair damaged homes in Warren County are available. The funding is for income-eligible homeowners who were affected by severe storms in July and August, especially the July 16 windstorm.

Administered by NY Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), emergency home repair assistance may be available to impacted homeowners who reside in the affected areas. Significant housing damage was caused by storms and flooding in Warren, Essex, Lewis, Madison and Saratoga counties.

Funding up to $50,000 may be used for emergency housing repairs necessary to make people's primary residences safe, sanitary and habitable. Funds are available to those people for their primary residence where flood or insurance coverage or other forms of disaster recovery funds are not sufficient to return the home to a safe and habitable condition.

Grants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Applications will be accepted until October 7, 2024.
