ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has partnered with the American Cancer Society to continue its "Men Wear Pink" campaign and unveiling of two CDTA pink buses for the 2024 year. This is the ninth year the CDTA is participating in the campaign.

“This is always an exciting time of year for us,” said CDTA CEO Carm Basile. “The energy surrounding the roll-out of our pink buses is immeasurable each year. This campaign not only raises critical dollars for the American Cancer Society, but it also brings our entire workforce together, all working toward a common goal. It’s great to see.”

The pink buses, a CDTA bus and the "Real Kids Wear Pink STAR" bus are officially being driven around the Capital Region. Both buses will feature advertising for other businesses to raise even more money during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

According to the CDTA, Broadview Federal Credit Union is supporting the Real Kids Wear Pink STAR bus with its logo displayed on the bus. The “HOPE” messaging on one side of the bus has returned to support and inspire all of those who are going through the disease and those who support loved ones battling the disease.

Last year, the CDTA raised $25,000 for the campaign and raised more than $10,000 so far this year. Over the last nine years, the CDTA has raised more than $125,000 for the American Cancer Society.
