Furore Grand Hotel: 50 shades of white redefining the Amalfi Coast

0

LONDON Furore Grand Hotel, opened in April 2024, rises the bar of the luxury hospitality experience in the Amalfi coast. Located in the heart of the ‘divine Coast’, adjacent to the famous Furore fjord between Positano and Amalfi, Furore Grand Hotel stands as a testament to refined hospitality, offering the perfect retreat with a fusion of Mediterranean elegance, unmatched wellness, and bespoke experiential design. Developed by the visionary minds of the Irollo de Lutiis family, renowned for their longstanding legacy in luxury hospitality, this distinctive project has evolved into a unique hotel that perfectly represents the art of the contemporary Italian “bien vivre”.

“Back in 2015, we started developing a plan to strengthen our presence in the luxury hospitality market and when we arrived here it was love at first sight.” explains Pietro Irollo de Lutiis, who, along with his brothers Giuliano and Alessandro, carries forward a family tradition that began over forty years ago with La Medusa, one of the most charming historic villas on the Vesuvius Coast. Furore Grand Hotel represents for us the future of the Amalfi Coast and the contemporary travel community who wants to live the destination off the beaten path.”

A destination spa Petramare Spa, inspired by the properties of the Olive tree and the Michelin-starred restaurant, Bluh Furore, lead by Chef Enrico Bartolini, complete a property that perfectly blends the traditional charm of the Amalfi Coast with contemporary innovation, creating a sanctuary that honours both the rich cultural heritage and the modern demands of discerning travellers.

Design and Rooms

A perfect fusion of Mediterranean style, fresh contemporary design, and timeless Italian glamour, Furore Grand Hotel is a scattered hotel perched above the sea that unfolds over nine levels of terraced gardens overlooking the sea, offering breathtaking views of the coast. Innovatively conceived compared to the traditional offerings of the area, the architectural and stylistic elements of Furore Grand Hotel harmoniously dialogue with the surrounding landscape, acting like an oasis in white among the green and blue nature that surround it.

Furore Grand Hotel pays homage to the local area with the use of traditional Italian craftmanship with a fresh and contemporary approach. Shades of whites frame the hues of the sea from both private and common areas, creating fresh and bright spaces, enlivened by vibrant touches of colour that echo the surrounding nature.

Featuring Vietri ceramic floors and fine furnishings handcrafted by local artisans, the interior decorations perfectly reflect the magic and beauty of the Amalfi Coast with the use of terracotta and colourful mosaics inspired by the local Mediterranean style.

Across 9 levels the guest can find 35 rooms, almost all suites – six with Jacuzzis and six with private pools – all with sea views thanks to balconies, terraces, and private gardens. The hotel also counts with outstanding facilities like two large outdoor pools, a Michelin restaurant, an all-day dining area, a bar and lounge space.

Destination spa – Petramare Spa Wellness and Wellbeing

The concepts of wellbeing and ‘bien vivre’ find its highest expression in both the Petramare Spa and its gardens -areas designed to perfectly blend with the nature of Furore and provide outdoor activities in a rejuvenating journey for the mind and body.

The Petramare Spa concept is focused on the properties of the Olive tree, an enduring symbol of the Mediterranean and a vital element of Furore’s landscape. This iconic element serves as the inspiration for the spa’s wellness philosophy, with each treatment designed to harness its powerful benefits. For the treatments, guests can select from three bespoke fragrances curated by the spa team, all featuring notes inspired by the nature surrounding the property, including basil, jasmine, and, of course, the olive tree. Known for its rich history and natural healing properties, the olive tree is celebrated in every corner of the spa, from the interior design, bespoke perfumes, or relaxing teas offered, to the peaceful gardens of the outdoor facilities.

Open to external visitors by appointment, the wellness centre spans through both indoor and outdoor areas within the lush greenery of the expansive park surrounding the resort. Indoors, the spa covers 500 square metres, offering guests a complete sensory experience. They can immerse themselves in the soothing waters of the heated pool and whirlpool, or enjoy the rejuvenating benefits of the sauna, Turkish bath, and emotional shower, with the option of indulging in exclusiveValmont spa treatments.

Outdoors, a 2,500-square-metre haven of tranquillity awaits, featuring two tiered pools, one perched dramatically above the sea with saltwater and in-water loungers, a well-quipped solarium, and a Kneipp hydrotherapy path. This peaceful oasis also hosts a variety of mindfulness activities, including dedicated areas for yoga, Pilates, and meditation. The park’s lush vegetation also houses a panoramic gym equipped with free weights and the latest Technogym equipment, ensuring guests can enjoy a cutting-edge workout experience in a relaxed, secluded environment with breathtaking views of the azure sea.

The Culinary Offering

Alongside wellness, gastronomy plays a central role in Furore Grand Hotel’s hospitality concept. Since its opening in 2024 Chef Enrico Bartolini leads the entire gastronomic line of the hotel, from the fine dining Michelin-winning restaurant Bluh Furore to Acquarasa, the all-day dining venue offering a more ‘bistronomic’ approach for lunch, aperitifs, and room service.

Chef Enrico Bartolini

Bluh Furore is a place where love for the land and gastronomic pleasure come together. In the large open kitchen, Resident Chef Vincenzo Russo perfectly blends the traditions of the area with his brilliant vision of the new contemporary cuisine. This successful synergy has yielded results in record time – in the 2024 edition of the Michelin Guide, the Bluh Furore restaurant earned its first star just a few months after opening.

The culinary experience is articulated through refined tasting menus that incorporate ingredients not just from the sea and the land, but also in a vegetarian key. The menu offers four courses ranging from three to seven dishes, complemented by pairings selected by the Sommelier to enhance the dishes. The extensive wine cellar houses hundreds of labels selected from the most prestigious national and international producers, with a particular focus on local and organic wines. Open only for dinner, the Michelin-starred Bluh Furore welcomes guests in an intimate and refined setting, cloaked in white, with incredible views and large windows that open onto a horizon where the sea and sky merge. In the background is the sound of the waves crashing against the coast, creating a romantic and relaxing atmosphere.

For a more informal culinary break, Acquarasa offers a wide and varied all-day dining experience, where Resident Chef Vincenzo Russo’s hand is expressed in more casual dishes with a Mediterranean soul, such as focaccia stuffed with fish of the day and buffalo mozzarella.

Furore Grand Hotel stands out as an innovative and intimate destination where guests are at the centre of everything, immersed in nature and surrounded by the artistic heritage of one of the most beautiful places in the world. The hotel will close its first exciting 2024 season this 20th of October and will reopen next year on the 16th April.
