Person found fatally shot in Humboldt Park home

A person was found shot to death Tuesday afternoon inside a home in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

Officers found the person, who was only identified as a female, about 12:30 p.m. inside a residence in the 700 block of North Avers Avenue, Chicago police said.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No one is in custody, and police are conducting a death investigation.
