New Delhi: Star India batter Virat Kohli hugged skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir after clinching a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the second Test match at Green Park Stadium on Tuesday, October 1. The star batter scored unbeaten 29 runs off 37 deliveries to guide India to the victory on Day 5.

In a video circulating on X, Virat Kohli was seen embracing Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, and other teammates as he exited the field after leading the team to victory.

earlier in the first innings, Virat amassed 47 runs and became the fastest batter to score 27,000 international runs. He became the fourth batter after Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting to achieve the rare milestone.

Gautam Gambhir recently said that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have a lot of cricket left in them after their heroics in the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. The new head coach said in a press conference.

“I think they’ve shown what they can deliver on the big stage whether it was the T20 World Cup and in the 50 over World Cup as well. I think both those guys have got a lot of cricket left in them,” Said Gambhir .

“And more importantly with the Champions Trophy and a big tour of Australia, obviously they would be motivated enough, and then hopefully they can keep their fitness till the 2027 World Cup as well,” he added.

Virat Kohli delivered a decent performance in the second Test, while Rohit Sharma struggled throughout the two-match series against Bangladesh. The 37-year-old managed scores of 6, 5, 23, and 8 across his four innings.
