Also, the former principal of the East Greenbush Central School district who stopped a shooting at the school has sadly passed away. 1. Schenectady BOE passes weapon detection, mental health measure
The Schenectady Board of Education passed weapon detection measures for the district’s schools. There have been recent incidents of violence in the district.
2. Former principal who stopped school shooting passes away
The East Greenbush Central School District is mourning the passing of John Sawchuck, the longtime principal of Columbia High School.
3. Car crashes into Cambridge school’s science wing exterior
According to the Cambridge Central School District, a car crashed into the outside of a school building, damaging a science wing classroom on Saturday. The school says the building was empty at the time.
4. Colonie teen to be remembered 54 years after murder
It has been 54 years since a Colonie teenager was kidnapped and killed on her walk home from the library in 1970. Now, the village is planning a memorial to continue her legacy.
