Bengaluru-based ICAR-NBAIR discovers 63 new insect species

ICAR-NBAIR discovered 63 new insect species in 2023-2024, obtained five patents for innovations in pest management, and commercialized 47 technologies generating Rs 32.5 million in revenue. Breakthroughs included gene silencing for cotton whitefly and biological agents for major pests like fall armyworm.
