The Indian captain, who has hit 87 maximums so far in 104 innings, is second to former opener Virender Sehwag’s 91. England all-rounder Ben Stokes leads the pack with 131 sixes in Tests, followed by New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum’s 107 and Australia’s Adam Gilchrist’s 100.

With the kind of approach Rohit has shown in the ongoing Test match, there is a possibility that the right-hander surpasses Sehwag in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. During his knock of 11-ball 23 in the first innings, Rohit hit three sixes. In the first Test, Rohit didn’t hit any sixes.

Bangladesh were bundled out for 233 in their first innings before India scored a quick-fire 285/9 and declared their innings on Monday in a match where two days were completely lost due to a wet outfield.
