Bears guard Teven Jenkins has bruised ribs, is day-to-day
Bears guard Teven Jenkins is day-to-day with bruised ribs, coach Matt Eberflus said Monday.
Eberflus left the game in the second quarter of Sunday’s 24-18 win against the Rams and went straight to the Bears’ locker room.
"We’ll see where he heals for tomorrow and into Wednesday, so we’ll make a designation at that point and see where he goes," Eberflus said.
He was replaced by Matt Pryor, who moved from right guard to left guard. Nate Davis, who was benched for Pryor, entered the game and played right guard.
The Bears’ offensive line has failed to find consistency this season, though it fared better Sunday in the run game. The Bears averaged 4.7 rushing yards per attempt, by far their best performance of the season. Entering Sunday’s game, running back D’Andre Swift was last among regular NFL running backs in yards per run.
Pro Football Focus considers Jenkins the 38th-best guard in the NFL this season, though that’s the highest mark of any Bears guard. He’s in the final season of his rookie contract.
