Officials said Carriere and a 16-year-old, also from Carencro, were scheduled to meet Saturday with three 15-year-olds from Cankton at Landon Pitre Memorial Park after agreeing to an exchange of vape apparatus via social media.
For reasons still under investigation, the 16-year-old passenger in the car Carriere was driving got out of the vehicle, brandished a 9mm pistol and fired 10 shots at the three Cankton teens, hitting one of them in the arm.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
Authorities said an arrest warrant has been issued for the 16-year-old alleged shooter, who is still at large. The investigation is ongoing.
