LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Bead Busters owner Craig Spadoni is gathering supplies in partnership with the Cajun Navy to send to hard-hit areas affected by Hurricane Helene.

Supplies will be collected at the business, located at 4909 Cameron Street in Lafayette.

"This is our fifth time doing this for hurricane victims with the Cajun Navy. We have tentacles all over the place to receive the items. So, we ask Acadiana to step up and donate. We have a huge list of needed items, and they always show up," Spadoni said.

Once they gather enough supplies, they will swiftly transport the urgently needed items to the hard-hit areas affected by Hurricane Helene.

"Municipalities, church groups, you name it; Wherever the greatest need is which is pretty massive right now," Spadoni said.

Spadoni emphasized the importance of Acadiana's support and assistance for our neighbors in need. He reminds us that Louisiana is all too familiar with the devastation left by storms. It's not a matter of if it happens again, but when it happens.

"The plan is for this supply drive to go on for two weeks or at least throughout the time help is needed," he said.

• Fuel cans
• Flashlights
• Batteries
• Tarps
• Bungee cords
• Bedding/pillows/mattresses sheets
• Bug spray
• Extension cords
• Generators
• New toys only
• New socks
• New underwear
• Pet food
• Clothing will be accepted only if new.
