Mechanicville man sentenced for larceny, high-speed chase
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- After pleading guilty in August, a Mechanicville man was sentenced for stealing a truck from a Stewart's Shop in Clifton Park and leading police on a high-speed chase. Jacob Hayner, 38, also admitted to ramming a Saratoga County Sheriff's Office patrol car back in early May.
Deputies responded to the call of a stolen car near Exit 10 on the Northway around 6:30 p.m. in Clifton Park. Hayner intentionally hit a deputy's vehicle after he was signaled to stop by law enforcement.
Hayner pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal mischief. The Saratoga County judge sentenced him to three and one-third to ten years in prison.
