Topeka child care center transfers ownership

0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A Topeka grassroots organization focused on helping under-resourced communities is transitioning the ownership and operation of a local child care center this month.

SENT, Inc. issued a press release on Monday, Sept. 30 stating that it has signed on to an agreement transferring SENT Prep to Patterson Family Child Care Center. This decision is effective as of Sept. 27.

SENT Prep has served as a critical resource for early childhood education in Topeka after it was founded in 2021 following the closure of the Kennedy Academy. SENT, Inc. said it is confident Patterson Family Child Care Center will expand on the establishment and its abilities to provide care for local children.

"At the heart of SENT's mission are two core values: leadership development and a wholistic approach to education. Leadership development emphasizes the importance of recognizing and nurturing the inherent leaders within our community, while a wholistic approach underscores our commitment to caring for the entire ecosystem that supports our children. We believe that deepening our partnership with Patterson Family Child Care Center will enhance the educational opportunities available to the children we serve."
