Man arrested after crashing into two homes over the weekend
NICOMA PARK, Okla. (KFOR) — A man was arrested after crashing into two homes on Saturday.
Annette Hamm and her husband were at home in their Nicoma Park neighborhood when police said 36-year-old Jesse Hill Jr. drove his car into their home of 12 years.
"I heard a big bang and I was like, 'what the heck?' and then I heard another bang. I was starting to walk to the front door, and then all of a sudden the whole house shakes," said Hamm. "I was like, 'oh my God, it's an earthquake.'"
Police said after Hill drove his car into a house, he then went through a yard hitting a gas line and chain link fence before opening the bedroom and hitting her husband and their pets.
"He was laying on the king-sized bed with three of our other dogs, and they were all four thrown against the wall," said Hamm. "He's okay. He says he's stiff, his hips are hurting and his shoulders hurt."
Neighbors said the whole ordeal has rattled their nerves.
"It just kind of shocked me because nothing's happened like that ever before that I know of around here. Never had any bad people," said Sylvia Shatswell, a neighbor.
Hamm said she was relieved that her husband was okay. Now both of them are worried about what the future may look like.
"I don't know what's going to happen. Somebody said we can't live here, the structure isn't sound. You know, we don't know," said Hamm.
Hamm said her insurance is currently working on getting them into a temporary home with their animals.
Hill rejected a field sobriety test and is currently in the Oklahoma County Jail.
