Bengals Place Ex-Patriots Offensive Lineman On Injured Reserve
The Bengals boosted their offensive line when they signed Trent Brown, but the former New England Patriots tackle's season ended Saturday.
Cincinnati placed Brown on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a brutal knee injury in the Bengals' loss to the Washington Commanders last Monday. The 10-year veteran's right leg was caught on the turf on pass protection, and he was carted off the field at Paycor Stadium.
Browns signed a one-year deal with Cincinnati last offseason after three seasons in New England where he won one Super Bowl.
The Bengals started the season 0-3 and faced an uphill battle without a top tackle protecting superstar Joe Burrow. First-round rookie Amarius Mims is expected to fill Brown's right tackle role for the rest of the season.
Brown's IR designation was made before Cincinnati took the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 on Sunday.
