Oregon stays unbeaten, smacks down UCLA in Pasadena
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The Oregon Ducks scored early and often against a familiar opponent, UCLA, even though this was now a Big Ten matchup.
The Ducks were a 25-point favorite and went right to work with a touchdown at 9:38 of the first quarter. They moved to a 17-3 lead in the second quarter on a beautiful pass from Dillon Gabriel to Tez Johnson, and then extended the lead to 25-3.
They were driving late in the first half when Gabriel threw a pick-6 to former Duck Bryan Addison, who took it 96 yards for a Bruins touchdown to cut the lead to 28-10 at the half.
Oregon went silent in the third quarter but the Gabriel-to Johnson connection paid off again in the fourth quarter to put the Ducks up 34-13 with 9:37 to play.
That was the final.
Next week, the Ducks host the Michigan State Spartans in another Big 10 contest.
