Harry Redknapp backs Spurs star to score against Man United in four-goal thriller
Harry Redknapp has offered his prediction for the clash between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, backing one Spurs man to keep his good run of form going.
Unpredictable game?
Both Spurs and Man Utd have struggled for consistency this season when it comes to results, which is why there is no clear favourite heading into Sunday’s game.
While United do have home advantage, Spurs have looked a lot more cohesive as a unit this season, even though their inability to take their chances would be a worry for Ange Postecoglou.
With both sides languishing on seven points after five Premier League matches, they will both be keen on taking all three on Sunday.
Harry Redknapp’s prediction
Redknapp believes that the game will finish in a high-scoring draw, admitting that he is really looking forward to watching the two sides go at it.
The former Spurs manager told BetVictor: “Just as soon as Manchester United start to settle down and play, they have a couple of lacklustre performances and everybody’s back to square one. You never know which United are going to turn up. I think they’ll surprise everyone this weekend with a decent performance, but it’ll be a frustrating time at Old Trafford yet again.
“All credit to Ange Postecoglou in Europe, they went down to 10 men early in the game, but his team produced a professional performance to win the game 3-0. Spurs were sensational against Brentford and it’s encouraging to see Dominic Solanke banging them in. That’s just what any new player needs.
“I’m looking forward to this match, but I bet the Man United fans will watching it from behind the sofa!”
Prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Tottenham.”
Dominic Solanke now has two goals in two matches, and Redknapp backed the Tottenham striker to keep his hot streak going.
When asked for his player to watch, the 77-year-old said: “Dominic Solanke has come out of the traps now and I think he’s going to go on a goal run.”
Solanke and Johnson now producing the goods
One of the main reasons for Tottenham’s struggles to pick up results this season has been their misfiring forward line.
However, with Solanke and Johnson now both firing and riding high on confidence, Spurs now look a much more threatening outfit.
The North London club are still waiting on the fitness of captain Son-Heung-min, with Postecoglou admitting that things are looking positive for the South Korean (Mirror).
