Royals vs. Braves Friday game thread
Today would be a good day to clinch a post-season spot!
The Royals begin their last regular season series of the season, but a win tonight can ensure more baseball. The Royals can clinch their first playoff spot since 2015 with a win or a Twins loss to the Orioles tonight.
Brady Singer gets the start after giving up six runs in less than six innings in his last outing. He has a 5.66 ERA in his last ten games, so this could be his last start with a move to the bullpen if the Royals reach the post-season.

This is a series that has been thrown out of whack due to Hurricane Helene. Inclement weather postponed the final two games of the Braves/Mets series this week, so the Atlanta players have been sitting around nervously waiting to play. That pushed back Max Fried to start tonight. He’s a groundball pitcher with a good curve, and despite being a lefty, he has been hammered by lefties this year - they’re hitting .321/.397/.455 against him, compared to .207/.273/.284 from righties.
