New details in SW OKC Walgreens murder case
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Court documents reveal details on how investigators were able to track down a woman in connection to a deadly shooting in SE Oklahoma City on July 18.
Homicide detectives were able to obtain video surveillance video from businesses in the surrounding area. Video footage showed a woman walking along Southeast 44th Street moments after a gun shot was heard.
According to court documents, the woman was seen walking with a hand gun in their left hand before concealing the weapon and continuing to walk.
On Friday, September 6, an officer responded to a disturbance call at Integris Southwest Medical Center. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman, later identified as Darlene Sue Thomas.
The officer arrested Thomas, who matched the description of the suspect in the video surveillance footage of the July 18 homicide. During the arrest, the officer found Thomas to be in possession of a handgun and meth.
Documents say Thomas was arrested for unrelated warrants and possession of a firearm during the incident at Integris Southwest Medical Center.
Officials fingerprinted, collected DNA swabs and test fired the handgun by Firearms Lab. The cartridges fired at the scene of the homicide were matched to a Taurus GX4 9MM handgun, the same handgun Thomas was carrying during her arrest.
Authorities say Thomas has been arrested and faces several charges including first degree murder.
