Well, at least it’s Friday.
Hello friends. We come to you on this Friday after the Mariners have officially been eliminated from postseason contention with the Royals and Tigers each winning yesterday. There will be plenty of time for offseason chatter, but with the postseason coming up in under a week, here’s what’s going on around baseball.

In a week meant to highlight White Sox futility, it was the Angels that collapsed in front of a national audience.
They were swept, punctuated by a 7-0 defeat.
A terrible season has its defining moment.
- With his 56th steal of the season, Shohei Ohtani surpassed Ichiro for the most stolen bases in a year for a Japanese-born player.
- Former Astros infielder Marwin González announced his retirement from baseball. The 35-year-old had spent the last two years of his career in Japan.
