Cate Blanchett Makes Rare Appearance with 20-Year-Old Son Roman Upton

Cate Blanchett isn’t often seen in public with her kids, but she just made a rare appearance with her 20-year-old son Roman!

The 55-year-old Oscar-winning actress was joined by Roman while attending the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s 2024 Albie Awards on Thursday (September 26) at the New York Public Library in New York City.

Cate is the mother of four children with husband Andrew Upton – sons Dashiell, 22, Roman, 20, Ignatius, 16, and daughter Edith, 9.

In an interview just a couple years ago, Cate talked about her kids being “disinterested” by her fame, but “in the best possible, healthiest way.”

She told Page Six ahead of an awards appearance, “I told them, ‘Oh I’m going to New York for 36 hours. I’ll be back on Wednesday…’ One of them is getting an award at school, and they went, ‘Oh, OK, have a good time.’”
