Business in Scott collecting items for Hurricane Helene relief effort

SCOTT, La. (KLFY) -- A local business has set up a collection and distribution center for those wishing to donate supplies to help the victims of Hurricane Helene.

Business owner Craig Spadoni posted on his personal Facebook page that his business, Bead Busters in Scott, will be collecting donations of items needed for the relief effort, along with the Cajun Navy and Cajun Army.

The dropoff location is at Bead Busters, 4909 Cameron St. in Scott, starting Monday.

The following items will be accepted for distribution:

  • Cases of water
  • Sports drinks
  • Non-perishable food
  • Toiletries
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Baby food & formula
  • Diapers (including adult diapers)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Buckets
  • Rags
  • Gloves
  • Mops
  • Metal rakes
  • Flat-head shovels
  • Bleach
  • Mold killer
  • Fuel cans
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Tarps
  • Bungee cords
  • Bedding/pillows/mattresses sheets
  • Bug spray
  • Extension cords
  • Generators
  • New toys only
  • New socks
  • New underwear
  • Pet food
  • Clothing will be accepted only if new.
