ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The restaurant industry is ever-changing with restaurants opening, closing, relocating, or just doing their thing. Here’s a recap of the latest Capital Region restaurant news, September 23 through 27.

Capital Region restaurant inspections: September 16-20

These are the inspections from September 16 to 20 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations, and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website.

Off the Beaten Path: Whisky Business Bakery

Whisky Business Bakery is located at 1671 Union Street in Schenectady. The business created more than 150 flavors of macarons and in the pastry case, you’ll find cupcakes, brownies, lemon bars and “the local blondie,” which features ingredients like Saratoga Potato Chips.

Restaurant group opening new eateries in Albany, Latham

The Rojas Corporation, owned by Roy Rojas, is opening up La Polleria Peruvian Rotisserie and Taqueria at 216 Lark Street in Albany and Las Margaritas Mexican Cantina at 710 Loudon Road in Latham. Both La Polleria Peruvian Rotisserie and Taqueria in Albany and Las Margaritas in Latham are set to open in November.

Ninety Nine in Queensbury back open after fire

After a kitchen fire on Sept. 19, the Ninety Nine restaurant in the Aviation Mall in Queensbury has reopened. A Prime Rib Dinner served Friday and Saturday after 4 p.m. and all day Sunday for $34.99 to all dine-in customers.

Hiring event set for new Voorheesville tavern

Blackbirds Tavern in Voorheesville, 43 South Main Street, is getting ready to open by holding a hiring event on Saturday, September 28 from noon to 5 p.m. Druthers is hiring for all positions including managers, cooks, bartenders, hosts, and waitstaff. New Thai restaurant opens in Albany

Suwun Thai Home Cooking is now open at 234 Western Avenue. The restaurant features authentic Thai cuisine, including spring rolls, dumplings, noodle soup, fried noodles, fried rice, curry, tamarind duck, pork belly basil, and more.

Bacon and Brew Fest returns to Gloversville

The Gloversville Recreation Commission will be hosting the annual Bacon and Brew Fest at their new location at Trail Station Park on September 28. The festival will offer a vast array of bacon-oriented culinary creations and a craft beer garden from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mediterranean eatery holds grand opening in Clifton Park

Pita & Olive celebrated a grand opening on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Clifton Park Center Mall. The owners say the opening has been in the works for a while but are excited to be finally open.

Uncommon Grounds to open in Albany International Airport

Uncommon Grounds is opening another location in the Albany International Airport. Uncommon Grounds has other locations in Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, University Plaza in Albany, Queensbury, and Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland. It is also slated to open locations in Delmar and the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

New pizzeria opens in Ballston Spa

Adooma Pizza & Kebab officially opened on September 21 right next to Spa Cleaners at 92A Milton Avenue. The new business is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

National Coffee Day deals in the Capital Region

If you’re a coffee lover, you’re in luck because National Coffee Day is on Sunday, September 29. Many businesses in the area, from Aroma Joe's to Stewart's Shops are offering coffee deals to celebrate the day.
