NYC mayor charges prove DOJ 'witch hunt' is another Trump lie
An indictment against New York City Mayor Eric Adams was unsealed on Thursday, making him the latest of several prominent figures in or with ties to the Democratic Party to face criminal charges from the Department of Justice under the Biden administration.
The agency, led by Biden-appointed Attorney General Merrick Garland, has advanced multiple indictments and prosecutions against individuals in the same party as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. At the same time, prominent Republican leaders like Donald Trump, have accused the Biden-Harris administration of pursuing a political “witch hunt” against Republicans through the justice system.
Trump has been convicted on 34 felony counts in New York and faces multiple federal charges for mishandling classified information and attempting to disrupt the 2020 presidential election. Despite this, he easily won the 2024 Republican primaries and is the party’s current presidential nominee.
The record of the Biden administration would indicate that partisan political ideology or connections have not been an obstacle to prosecution and the pursuit of justice. Here are some of the most prominent Democrats who have been a part of this process.
