JD Vance’s latest ‘unearthed’ comments about car seats are bonkers

Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate, complained that federal car seat rules are negatively impacting child birth rates. The comment is in line with other off-putting statements Vance has made about American family sizes and pronatalism.

Vance claimed that car seat rules “have driven down the number of babies born in this country by over 100,000.”
