Four Greek Cypriots and Two Turkish Cypriots to attend PACE meeting

The four-person Greek Cypriot delegation and the two-person Turkish Cypriot delegation will both travel to Strasburg to attend the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe’s next session next week.

The session will take place between Monday and Friday, with Disy’s Nicos Tornaritis, Akel’s Giorgos Loukaides, Diko’s Christiana Erotokritou, Edek’s Kostis Efstathiou, the UBP’s Oguzhan Hasipoglu and the CTP’s Armagan Candan all set to be present.

The subjects up for discussion include the humanitarian situation in Gaza, with particular emphasis on women and children, propaganda and the free press in Europe, censorship of the fate of missing migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, as well as the situation in Iran.

The session will be addressed by North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timo Mucunski and Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis representing the Council of Europe’s committee of ministers, and the new Council of Europe Secretary-General Alain Berset.
