Why Flipkart APOLOGISED to Indian Husbands, story behind ‘Aalsi, Bewakoof’ Trend

0

Flipkart Issues Apology: After receiving massive backlash over its recent promotional video, the famous e-commerce company Flipkart has issued a public apology. The company had released the video for its ‘Big Billion Days Sale.’ Following the widespread criticism on the internet, Flipkart has since taken down the clip from their social media platforms.

What the Video is About

In the animated clip, a couple can be seen offering tip on how women could discreetly order and store handbags from Flipkart while making sure their husbands are kept in the dark about ‘Big Billion Days’ sale.

How The Flipkart Video Angered People

Since its release the clip has fumed the internet including several section such as ‘NCMIndia Council For Men Affairs’. The group shared the clip on X, stating that it is nothing but “toxic” and “misandrist”.

“So @Flipkart deleted this misandrist post. But what was the logic behind even posting such toxic video addressing a Husband as Aalsi, Kambakkht and Bewakoof Pati. They must apologise for this and hope they will not repeat it. Misandry will Not be Tolerated Anymore,” the post said.

Why Flipkart Issues Apology

The Indian e-commerce issued an apology soon after the backlash, stating that the video was shared “in error” and has been removed.
“We’re sorry for the offending video which was posted in error, and took it down as soon as we realised our mistake. We will do better in the future,” Flipkart said in the post.

Notably, the e-commerce platform’s ‘Big Billion Days’ sale went live on September 27 and will end on October 6.
