Gabrielle Union Is a Vision In Metallic Platform Sandals at the Clooney Foundation’s Albie Awards 2024 

Gabrielle Union was a vision at the 2024 Albie Awards in New York City on Thursday night. 

The “Bring It On” actress arrived at the annual event wearing a mint green satin gown with crystal embellishments decorating the cutouts along the side of the bodice. The pleated sheen piece draped the floor behind her with a train. She accessorized the look with a sparkling choker and a tennis bracelet. 

To complete the look, Union, who attended the event alongside husband Dwyane Wade, opted for a pair of silver sandals. The metallic heels featured a barely-there silhouette with a thin strap decorating the round toe and ankle. The sandals brought height to the look with a platform sole and a stiletto heel that was at least 5 inches tall.

Union is usually dressed by Thomas Christos, who can be credited for the bay sandals she wore to Burberry’s Spring 2025 show last week. The stylist also works with Madeleine Arthur, Amelie Zilber, and Union’s stepdaughter Zaya Wade.

Union always has on a stylish pair of designer sandals or casual sneakers when she’s out and about. For her boots and heels, she loves brands like Paris Texas and Tabitha Simmons. When off-duty, she prefers to go towards brands like Adidas and Nike for her active footwear. 

The actress brought her own personal style to the forefront of retail in 2017 when she partnered with New York & Company on a multiyear partnership that started with a limited-edition capsule collection.

The Clooney Foundation for Justice hosts the event to honor journalists, human rights leaders, and other global justice representatives who take great risks for the work they produce. The award ceremony is named after Albie Sachs, a South African judge who was imprisoned for his fight against segregation.
