Think twice about getting those awards

A study by Daniel B Sands from University College London reveals that receiving a Michelin star increases the likelihood of restaurant closures in New York City. Over 40% of Michelin-starred restaurants from 2005-2014 shut down by end-2019. The pressures and expectations following such accolades often lead to financial strain.
