I was 16 when I escaped Diddy’s ‘freak-off’ party offering sex, drugs, and candy – he ‘chased me down the hall’

A SINGER and journalist has claimed Sean Combs chased after her as she tried to escape one of his infamous “freak-off” parties in the late 1990s when she was just 16 years old.

The artist, who goes by the stage name Good Fridae, claims the mogul better known as Diddy threw a hotel bash in Toronto that offered free drugs, food, drinks, and candy to lure in young women.

Fridae also claimed guests were hooking up in chairs and dark corners, and Combs selected individual revelers to attend a second VIP “freak-off” in a nearby suite.

She said the star’s over-zealous security manhandled her when she tried to leave the hotel floor after she lost her friend and feared she’d be taken advantage of.

“I went to go out of the main door and [the security guard] stopped me. He stood in front of the main door and he grabbed my shoulders and he’s like, ‘You’re not going anywhere,'” Fridae told The U.S. Sun.

“I wanted to leave the party to find my friend, and because I felt very uncomfortable, with all these old men trying to touch me and get me to do things with them.

“I almost had a panic attack when I saw Diddy coming from the ‘freak-off’ room, obviously his security told him and I ran to press the elevator button, hoping it would come so I wouldn’t have to run down 20+ flights of emergency exit stairs.

“He was kind of running towards me. This look on his face really terrified me, it’s hard to explain but I’m sure many others can explain that look of … like I was in trouble for leaving.

“It was just horrible, I was just praying that the elevator would come and I didn’t have to talk to him.”

In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, the singer says she was left shaken after the experience and wants justice for his alleged victims after his recent arrest.

Combs, who was known in the 1990s as Puffy and Puff Daddy, is facing multiple charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

A bombshell federal indictment claims the disgraced star, who has pleaded not guilty, organized days-long, drug-fueled sex parties that he forced victims to take part in.

Combs is also facing multiple lawsuits from alleged sex abuse victims as he remains behind bars in New York awaiting trial.

Recalling how she first met Combs, Fridae said she and a friend went to an autograph signing at a HMV record store in August 1999 to celebrate the launch of his second studio album, Forever.

She claims she and the pal were in a girl group at the time and sang for Combs after he turned up late before being invited to his five-star hotel for an after-party.

“After we sang, he made his move, he was hitting on me commenting on my beautiful eyes and complexion,” she said.

“I told him we were only 16, he said ‘Oh it’s okay, I don’t check IDs at my parties.”

“He whispered to his security guard and then invited my friend and I back to his hotel, where he stated he was having a big party and other artists would be there.

“I told him we were only 16, he said ‘Oh it’s okay, I don’t check IDs at my parties.'”

The legal drinking age in Toronto was 19, while the age of consent was 16 and remains the same today.

Fridae admits he made her feel slightly uneasy as his energy was “off” and she was unsure whether or not to go, but a friend convinced her it would be a good networking opportunity.

“His security guard gave us the details, what hotel to go to, and to wait in the lobby for them to arrive if we got there before they did,” she said.

“We got to the hotel and waited about five or so minutes with about four other girls and then he arrived, there were paps outside the hotel and some fans.

“My friend and I were gathered by one of the security guards as Diddy was quickly ushered into an elevator.

“The security guard advised us of the rules and specifically said we can’t use our phones in any of the party rooms if we have them.

“Smartphones with cameras were not invented yet or social media, I had an old Sony Ericsson on prepaid minutes and that had died at the signing.

“The no phones situation was another red flag for me and I began getting anxious.”

It comes as…

She says she finally agreed after security also persuaded her to go, and the girls were escorted upstairs and told there were many suites and two separate parties, one of which they would be invited to later in the night by Combs himself.

“Security took us all to the first room door, it was kind of loud and fairly dim upon entering, it also smelled sweet from a collection of women’s perfume,” she said.

“The other girls went to work the room, they were hired ‘models.’ All of this before the era of IG ‘models,’ smartphones or any social media. MySpace wasn’t even invented.”

Fridae claimed there was “a lot of sex going on already” in the main party area, but it wasn’t her first industry party so she wasn’t shocked at the time.

But she alleges there were more men at the party than women and she started to feel uncomfortable.

She said her parents knew she was often at late-night shoots and filming projects as she tried to break into the industry and believed she was safe with her friend.

“There were finger foods, candy, drugs, and drinks. None of which I touched in case there was something in them.

“I immediately felt like a piece of meat and very uncomfortable, Puffy was nowhere to be found, men swarmed us offering us money, drugs, record deals etc. I declined all the offers and tried to be around more women.

“I lost my friend but found Puffy. I asked him about her if he knew where she went and he told me I need to ditch her.

“He walked away and I went to search for her in the various connecting rooms and one door was locked.

“I tried to open it and a security guard immediately came in to ask what I was doing and informed me that I wasn’t allowed to go in that room, until I was invited by Puffy to the ‘other party.’ That’s what the security called ‘freak offs,’ the other party.”

Fridae had heard the party was more “elevated” with more sex and drugs, echoing what others have said about Combs’ “freak-off” orgies.

She said the star was also in town in for The Toronto Caribbean Carnival, formerly known as Caribana, and was hosting a separate yacht party.

The U.S. Sun has viewed promotional images and the cover of a local magazine showing Combs at the event in 1999 after the hotel party Fridae attended.

“Most of his staff were doing their jobs, some a little too well,” she claimed.

“One security guard in particular kept trying to get me to drink, was hitting on me, and following me around the party. He’s the one who caught me trying to open the freak-off door.

What happened during Sean Combs' 'freak offs'?

Sean Combs' infamous drug-fueled freak offs, first revealed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura's lawsuit in November 2023, have become a central narrative of the indictment, which alleges:

  • The music mogul “manipulated women to participate in highly orchestrated performances of sexual activity with male commercial sex workers.”
  • Freak offs “occurred regularly, sometimes lasted multiple days, and often involved multiple commercial sex workers.”
  • Combs “distributed a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant.”
  • He and the victims “typically received IV fluids to recover from the physical exertion and drug use” after the freak offs.
  • Cops “seized various Freak Off supplies, including narcotics and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant” from his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.
  • Combs “hit, kicked, threw objects at, and dragged victims, at times, by their hair,” during and separate from the freak offs, which “often resulted in injuries that took days or weeks to heal.”
  • He also used the “sensitive, embarrassing, and incriminating recordings” that he made during freak offs as “collateral to ensure the continued obedience and silence of the victims.”

“He said, ‘You’re not allowed to go in there. You didn’t get invited yet. You have to wait for Puffy to ask you to come.’

“And I’m like, ‘Why?’ And then he’s like, ‘It’s another party, the other party’. He’s like ‘When you go, you will find out, I cannot talk about it.’

“I wanted to get out of there as fast as possible but I couldn’t find my friend.

“I wanted to go look for her after seeing I couldn’t call her because my phone was dead. I didn’t know if she was okay, if she went home, if she left me a voicemail.”

That’s when the security guard stopped her, blocked the door, grabbed her shoulders, and told her she couldn’t go anywhere, she claimed.

“And I’m like, ‘Yes I am, you’re letting me go and I’m going to go out so I can find my friend.’

“He’s like ‘No, you’re going to wait here until Puffy comes back and then you’ll be invited to the party.’

“I think he thought I wanted to be invited to the party and that’s why he wasn’t letting me go. I didn’t want to go to the party, I just wanted to get out.

“I began to yell, telling him I wanted to leave the party, it sucked, the men were gross and ugly and if he didn’t stop holding me, move out of my way and let me go, I was going to tell my Dad.

“That’s when I pulled out my phone, he didn’t know it was dead but he moved out of the way.”

She claims Combs appeared “angry” as he rushed towards her down the corridor and she told the entourage she was only 16, her father was calling her, and it was past her curfew.

“I flashed my dead phone in his face and the elevator opened at the perfect time, with the [hotel] manager and hotel security in it,” she said.

“I ran into the elevator but the hotel security held it open until the manager asked him to lower down the music, other guests were complaining.

“I was in the very back corner of the elevator out of [Diddy’s] eyesight.

“Once the elevator door closed the manager asked me if I was okay, I was in shock and couldn’t speak at that moment.

“When we got to the lobby I told him I lost my friend, my phone died, and asked him to use the front desk phone to call my messages, in case my friend left a message.”

LONG TIME COMING

Fridae said it was her first and last Combs party, and she never felt the same way at other VIP bashes she attended over the years hosted by other rappers.

She says she never told her parents or anyone else about her experience, while her friend never gave the full details of what happened when she stayed later at the party.

Combs was believed to already be dating Jennifer Lopez when he went to Toronto after meeting at the set of her music video If You Had My Love, which was shot in April 1999.

Fridae confirmed she did not see Jennifer or hear her mentioned by any guests at the party.

Asked how she felt after Combs’ arrest this month following raids on his homes, Fridae said she was “elated.”

“I, like many others, knew this was coming,” she said.

“Finally, so many people were going to get justice for the horrors they lived through at his behest.

The criminal case came to light after Combs’ ex, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, was seen being attacked by the star in disturbing surveillance footage in a Los Angeles hotel.

The video was leaked just days after he settled a lawsuit with Cassie, who accused him of rape and years of abuse, which he denied.

“I feel so much sympathy for the victims and guilt for not coming out with my experience sooner.”

“[I’m] so proud of everyone who has come forward, especially Cassie, the courage it took her to be so vulnerable.”
