ANTHONY JOSHUA has been called out to a rematch by one of his old rivals following defeat to Daniel Dubois.

Dubois dropped AJ four times on the way to a stunning fifth-round knockout in front of a British-record 98,000 fans.

Among those in the historic crowd was Dillian Whyte, who shares a storied rivalry with Joshua.

And Whyte wants to settle the British beef once and for all.

He told talkSPORT: “I watched Dubois-AJ, and I think to myself, ‘I can beat these guys’.

“I’m very capable of beating them. I didn’t see anything special that I was like ‘Okay the feet was great or the movement was great’.

“Obviously, I saw a lot of power and a lot of aggression, which they both bring to the table.

“So I’m just very motivated. I can’t wait to get back and get back into the big fights, man. So November, hopefully, and then December.”

Whyte, 36, beat Joshua, 34, in the amateurs but was knocked out when they rematched in 2015 as professionals.

They were due to fight against in August 2023 but Whyte returned an “adverse finding” in the pre-fight drug tests.

Whyte was later cleared to again after a contaminated supplement was determined to have caused the finding.

The heavyweight returned with victory over Christian Hammer, 36, in March and wants to fight twice more this year.

AJ meanwhile has refused retirement and has already held talks with promoter Eddie Hearn and Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh.

And money-man Alalshikh has given the greenlight for Joshua to rematch Dubois, 27, eyed for February.
