KSHSAA changes multiple school classifications

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) is reclassifying multiple schools across the state based on shifting enrollment numbers.

The KSHSAA announced in a press release on Thursday, Sept. 26 that multiple schools in Kansas will be changing their classification for the 2024-2025 school year. More than 20 schools will be impacted by these changes, including:

  • Range: 692 - 317.
    • Hayden High Catholic High School - 3A to 4A.
  • Range: 317-174.
    • Belle Plaine High School - 2A to 3A.
    • Garden Plain High School - 2A to 3A.
    • Jayhawk Linn High School - 2A to 3A.
    • Scott Community High School - 4A to 3A.
    • Riverside High School - 2A to 3A.
  • Range: 174 - 109
    • Douglass High School - 3A to 2A.
    • Doniphan West High School - 1A to 2A.
    • Bluestem High School - 3A to 2A.
    • Oswego High School - 1A to 2A.
    • Phillipsburg High School - 3A to 2A.
    • Rossville High School - 3A to 2A.
    • Solomon High School - 1A to 2A.
    • Lucas Unified High School - 1A to 2A.
    • Udall High School - 1A to 2A.
    • Central Christian Academy High School - 1A to 2A.
    • Yates Center High School - 1A to 2A.
  • Range: 108 - 15.
    • Ellis High School - 2A to 1A.
    • West Elk High School - 2A to 1A.
    • Lincoln High School - 2A to 1A.
    • Meade High School - 2A to 1A.
    • Oxford High School - 2A to 1A.
    • Sedan High School - 2A to 1A.
    • The Independent School - 2A to 1A.
