The NIA has apprehended Girish Baruah, a key suspect in the planting of explosive devices across Assam by the banned group Ulfa(I). He was found hiding on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Baruah and his group had placed IEDs in North Lakhimpur district under orders from Ulfa(I) leadership.
