Man Utd watching 18yo Ivorian wonderkid today, 6 goals & 3 assists this season - report
Manchester United have sent a representative to monitor Ivorian wonderkid Bazoumana Traore in today’s Allsvenskan game between Hammarby and Hacken.
The Red Devils had a productive summer transfer window with five high-profile signings, but they also focused on recruiting top talents for the academy.
The club have so far signed Sekou Kone, James Overy and Samuel Lusale. They are expected to confirm the arrival of Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal soon.
United are aiming to add more quality talents to the system and Fotboll Skanalen claim that they will be monitoring Traore in action for Hammarby this evening.
They are not alone in the pursuit of the 18-year-old with Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion having registered scouts at the Tele2 Arena.
Traore could be a player to watch out for
The left-sided winger was signed by Hammarby from ASEC Mimosas in the Ivory Coast in March.
He was initially an unused substitute, but has become a key player over the last few months. The youngster has six goals and three assists from just 17 appearances in his debut season.
Aside from his goal involvements, Traore has also impressed with his distribution, dribbling skills, duel winning ability and recoveries. He could be a player to watch out in future.
If he can sustain his form for the rest of the campaign, United could be tempted to make a formal move to sign him. There are bound to face competition from Europe’s elite clubs.
The left-footed teenager is already valued at £5 million by Transfermarkt. Hammarby could demand a club-record fee higher than the current valuation for the talented winger.
