NYSP: Two arrested for Grand Larceny during a traffic stop
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Two men were arrested following a traffic stop in Amsterdam. Zachery Higby, 23, of Richfield Springs, and Ryan Dobson, 36, of Gloversville face multiple charges after troopers found a large number of new products in the car.
On Sept. 20, troopers stopped a vehicle around State Route 30 in Amsterdam for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Troopers identified Higby as the driver and Dobson as the passenger.
During the traffic stop, a large amount of new merchandise was discovered within the vehicle. Upon an investigation into the merchandise and the two men, it was discovered that the two allegedly stole the items, valued at more than $1,700, from the Lowes in Amsterdam.
Charges for Higby:
- Grand Larceny in the fourth degree
- Conspiracy in the fifth degree
- Multiple vehicle and traffic law violations
Charges for Dobson:
- Grand Larceny in the fourth degree
- Conspiracy in the fifth degree
Both men were transported to the Fonda State Police barracks for processing. They were issued same-day appearance tickets for the Amsterdam Town Court and then turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for pending unrelated charges.
