Spurs welcome former Newcastle owner as special guest amid investment rumours
Former Newcastle United co-owner, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, was a special guest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the North London Derby last week, The Sun reveal.
Who is Mehrdad Ghodoussi?
Ghodoussi is the husband and business partner of Amanda Staveley, with the pair formerly being co-owners at Newcastle after taking a 10 per cent stake in 2021.
They were the ones who helped set up a £305m Saudi takeover of the Magpies but they withdrew from the club back in July.
The Sun claim that they are now interested in buying a stake in Tottenham, with discussions over a potential cash injection allegedly being held in the background with Daniel Levy.
Amanda Staveley is looking at Spurs investment
The report claims that Staveley has now put a team together to buy a percentage of Tottenham and that she is backed by ‘serious money’ from the Middle East.
It is asserted that the consortium is now ‘stepping up’ their talks to buy an initial stake in Spurs before potentially considering further investment in the North London club in the future.
The publication backs up what we have heard from various sources over recent months, claiming that Levy and ENIC are open to selling a portion of the club.

A minority investor would be ideal for Daniel Levy as it would ensure that he remains in charge of the club’s operations while also receiving a significant cash boost which the club can invest into the first-team and other infrastructure projects.
With Levy himself confirming this, I suspect we could see some kind of investment in the next 12 months.
