'Particularly notable': Key staffers prepare to flee embattled Mark Robinson's office
Mark Robinson's staff at the North Carolina lieutenant governor's office are leaving in droves after a damning CNN report linked the gubernatorial candidate to pro-slavery and pro-Nazi content on a porn site, according to a new report.
Chief of Staff Brian LiVecchi, Director of Communications John Wesley Waugh, Policy Director Jonathan Harris and Government Affairs Director Nathan Lewis have all said they'll resign within the coming days, sources told WRAL News Wednesday.
"LiVecchi’s departure is particularly notable," according to the report. "He has served as Robinson’s right-hand man in the state office throughout his term, first as general counsel and then as chief of staff.
This news follows reports of at least eight resignations among Robinson’s campaign staff — including his campaign manager, finance director and a senior adviser, according to the report.
Those resigning from Robinson's governmental office were responsible for managing day-to-day responsibilities associated with presiding over the state senate, WRAL reported.

Robinson has denied CNN's reporting that he posted comments on the site Nude Africa that he was a "black NAZI" who expressed appreciation for slavery and transgender pornography.
He claimed he would be coming at CNN "full throttle" as Republicans in his state called on Robinson to either prove the reporting false or prepare to lose.
Robinson was once described by former President Donald Trump, who threw his support behind the controversial candidate, as "Martin Luther King on steroids."
Robinson told social media followers on X Wednesday afternoon that he needed and wanted North Carolina Republicans' support as he pursues the governorship.
"Now is not the time for intra-party squabbling and nonsense,” he wrote. "We have 41 days to make our case. We can’t do it without all hands on deck.”
